Fighter Ace & Windows Vista
There are four crucial steps to make Fighter Ace work due to the new security features included in Microsoft Vista and Internet Explorer 7.
In the event that we release a new FAInstaller or you over install components all the below steps will need to be redone.
Occasionally we update FAStart.exe and at that point we will announce that in the forums.
Normally the steps below need only be done once.
We assume that you have read the Fighter Ace Quick Start Guide. The link will open inside this window if you click it directly. Please use right click and choose open in new window or tab to keep this page.
Installing Fighter Ace On Vista
- Right Click on FAInstaller##.exe and select Properties.
- Click the unblock button if it exists.
- Next, click on the Compatibility tab.
- Put a checkmark in the box that says “Run this program as an administrator” (this box is located at the bottom of the window under the Compatibility tab).
Erroneous Operation
Failing to do the above will result in the following error.
Normal Operation
- Run the installer and allow Vista to run it.
- Allow Vista to continue to run FAInstaller as an unidentified program.
