Jump to: navigation, search

English translation is Hitachi Aircraft Co., Ltd.

Japanese aircraft and engine manufacturer during World War II, specializing in small training aircraft.

Hitachi Kokuki K.K. was formed in 1939 when it purchased production plants at Omori, Tachikawa and Haneda from Hitachi Seisakusho K.K. (Hitachi Manufacturing Co., Ltd.), which had previously acquired them from Tokyo Gasu Denki Kogyo K.K. (Tokyo Gas and Electric Co., Ltd.). A new engine plant was opened in 1939 in Kawasaki and a new airframe plant, initially intended for license-built aircraft designed by Ernst Heinkel, A.G., was built in Chiba. This was converted to a final assembly plant in 1944.
