Nevermiss {from left to right, Jim, Xtreme}

Our lives are better left to chance, I could have missed the pain, But I'd have had to miss the dance

It is with a heavy heart that I write this. Our friend of many years and CO of JG51 passed away in early March. He dealt with his illness with characteristic courage and positive attitude - so much so that many of us didn't even realize that he was sick until recently.

Under Jim's leadership, the diverse pilots of JG51 worked smoothly together to achieve great things in FA - whether in historical rooms or in campaign events. He valued organized assaults and dedicated hours to practice and devise the right tactics for a given event. Jim led by example and was often found in the critical plane for the given mission - Kelly_Mouse reminded me today of Jim flying the vaunted JU-52 to grab a key field with 1 other pilot as the rest of the squad squared off versus the Allies forces on the other side of the map. Jim believed in building the FA community and was a frequent and regular contributor to all facets of the game and community. In fact, I know there are many non-JG51 pilots who feel close to Jim and will miss him dearly too.

There will be a memorial flight to honor Jim's friendship and memory. Details will be posted soon... we'd like to have a little time to track down former JG51 pilots who have left FA. We hope to see many of you there to share our collective memories of this gentleman and FA pilot.

JG51_Nevermiss, on behalf of JG51, it was an honor to wing with you sir. May you rest in peace.

With Love Today
We thought of you with love today,
But this is nothing new,
We thought of you yesterday
and the days before that too.
We think of you in silence and
often speak you name.
All we have now are our memories,
and your picture in a frame.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn't go alone.
A part of us went with you
The day God took you home.
