Awarded to a pilot for outstanding performance in defense of friendly naval units during an event.

The 3rd Squad and LTD Squadron were both tasked with defending the carriers and transports from Japanese air attacks during the Tetsu No Ame event. Facing a determined and often reckless opponent these two groups managed to stave off the kamikaze and bombing attacks that would have brought doom to the Allied forces had they reached their targets in sufficient numbers. For accomplishing this mission the following pilots are eligible to wear the Naval Defense ribbon:

Destruction of the enemy bombers was critical for Allied forces during the Convoy To Murmansk event, and many pilots excelled. For those pilots who managed to down 8 or more enemy bombers, the Naval Defense ribbon will be awarded them. Those pilots are:
