British aircraft manufacturer during World War II.

Originally formed in 1912 with the intent of producing sea-going aircraft. In 1928 Vickers (Aviation), Ltd. took control of Supermarine and it was subseuently known as Supermarine Aviation Works (Vickers), Ltd. In 1938 Vickers (Aviation), Ltd. was itself taken absorbed by Vickers-Armstrongs, Ltd.


Production Aircraft

1933 - Seagull V (single-engine, amphibian, biplane flying-boat)

1935 - Walrus (Royal Navy version of the Seagull V, which was produced for the Royal Australian Navy)

1938 - Supermarine Spitfire (single-engine, interceptor / fighter-bomber)

1940 - Sea Otter (single-engine, amphibian, biplane flying-boat)
